I was inspired to call this the Black Diamond because I just read that the largest diamond ever discovered in the world was not a clear, sparkling brilliant but was a 3,072 carat murky black diamond. It no longer exists - it was broken up to make drilling equipment. Now, black diamonds are considered valuable - and are also something of a scientific mystery. So it's a sort of metaphor for the rejected... the one that had a rare beauty, not like the typical flock... actually a king or queen, just not visible to the majority...
Anyway this will be a site where I get to ramble about whatever I'm in the mood for. More soon...
